IZUM – Institute of Information Science in Maribor is responsible for library automation in Slovenia and the countries of South-Eastern Europe. IZUM develops and maintains the COBISS library information system that is used by approximately 600 libraries in seven different countries. All these libraries are linked in the COBISS.Net network, one of Europe's largest regional library networks, which plays a crucial role in intercultural exchange. In the field of librarianship, IZUM collaborates with OCLC/WorldCat; in the area of research, it is connected with Thomson Reuters/ISI Web of Knowledge. IZUM will host CTC/Maribor at their conference centre in Maribor, Prešernova ulica 17.
