TRAVELLING BY PLANE
The closest airport is in GRAZ, Austria (40 kilometres from Maribor) and is our top suggestion for all participants from abroad. If you send your arrival/departure details to franci.pivec@izum.si, special transport to and from Maribor will be organised. A rail service to Maribor is also available several times a day.
LJUBLJANA airport is further away (130 kilometres), upon a special arrangement between the organiser and the participant we can also provide transport from Ljubljana to Maribor and back. There is a bus transfer from the airport to the centre of Ljubljana every hour (45 minutes bus ride). You can then take the train from Ljubljana to Maribor (app. 2-hour train journey).
TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
Maribor has international rail connections to Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary. The train station is in the vicinity of the IZUM conference centre and the recommended hotels.
TRAVELLING BY CAR
Maribor is located at the crossroads of the motorways to Italy, Hungary and Austria, so access by car is easy. All hotels have suitable car parks.
